Updated: 13 October 2026.

Responsible person: Alexandra Hermann, author of the independent information project NOSTRES (Italy). For questions about data processing: alexandra.hermann@pec.it.

What is stored on your device

Answers to the questions, the chosen method and the step marks are saved in the browser's local storage so that you can continue the route on the same device. These answers and documents are not sent to a NOSTRES database. You can delete the local data through your browser settings.

What technical data NOSTRES receives

To check that the routes work, the site sends a limited set of events: the route code, the type of action, a technical attempt identifier, a separate step or problem code and the time of the event. The built-in route rating sends the chosen ratings and the codes of obstacles. These fields do not ask for a name, e-mail, documents or free text.

Events and ratings are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database in the European region and are used to find errors and improve the routes. Cloudflare is given access to the infrastructure for hosting and running the database. Records are kept as long as they are needed for these purposes, are reviewed regularly and are deleted when no longer needed.

What the data is used for

Technical events and ratings are used to maintain and improve the free service. The basis for processing is the project author's legitimate interest in checking that the routes work and fixing problems. If you send a message, its data is used to consider your enquiry and reply.

To deliver pages and protect the site, Cloudflare may process technical connection data, for example the IP address, the time of the request and headers. NOSTRES does not use them to build a user profile. The details of processing at the provider are described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

If you write to the PEC

If you send a message to alexandra.hermann@pec.it, the author receives the sender's address, the text of the message and any attachments you added. This data is used to read the enquiry and reply to it; the message is handled by the PEC mail service. Do not send documents and sensitive information unless they are needed for your question.

External links

The site has links to official authorities and other external resources. After you follow them, their operators process data under their own privacy rules.

Your rights

You can write to the stated PEC address with a request for access to, correction or deletion of data that relates to you, and with an objection to processing. You can also file a complaint with the Italian data protection supervisory authority Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
